unexpected illness
Our sister Angie recently found out she has stage 1 cancer. She will be going through 6 weeks of intense Chemotherapy and Radiation. She has not been able to work since late February when she had her first surgery to remove, from what the cancer surgeon advised were the cancerous cells. Lo and behold, he was wrong and there were many more growths - she decided to get a 2nd opinion and ultimately switched cancer specialists and hospitals all together. The following surgery was just 6 short weeks after the first one. Trying to recover from a double surgery has been tough as she is mostly immobile - unable to sit upright and absolutely no driving.
Angie is not new to being seen by specialist after specialist and undergoing numerous surgical procedures - she had a kidney transplant at 15. She is fighter and her body works overtime with all the anti-rejection meds she is required to take daily.
This has been very tough on her as she is quite independent and is used to taking care of bills and everything else, all on her own.
She has applied for disability funds and is waiting on their response, but in the meantime she is not able to get out and make money for the bills that are coming due now. She lives alone so it all falls on her shoulders.
Rent, vehicle, insurance, utilities which comes close to $2,000 a month
Angie's lifelong dream has always been to have children of her own, and when her daughter passed within a few short weeks of being born, she was devastated. Due to the intense radiation treatment, her reproductive organs will not survive - freezing her eggs, is her only hope. With the help of a social worker, she found a program that will assist with a small percentage of the cost.
We created this page in the hope that we can help get her bills paid for the next few months while she isn't able to work. With intense Chemo & radiation the last thing you want to have to worry about is if you'll still have a place to live once all the treatments are done. We would also love to be able to help with the cost of freezing her eggs so one day her dream can become a reality. My sister's and I will be preparing small healthy meals to freeze, so that when she is able to eat, she has food available.
Any amount you can donate to help will be greatly appreciated. More than anything, we want her to know she is not alone in this fight and she has people in her corner.
I will ensure that her bills get paid on time so that none of the donations are used up in late fees or bank fees.
We send our utmost appreciation for taking the time to read through all of this.
please consider sharing this to your page or any of your social media outlets. ❤️
I pray for you and your family - blessings and well being to each and every of you. 🙏
