A surgeon waved the cautions and concerns of the manufacture to do pryor testing for allergic reaction before implanting three nitinol stents into the femoral artery of my husbands right leg. This brought on immense hives all over the torso of his body. The doctor refused to believe the hives were caused from the stents so much that he stated even if it were that they would not be coming out. After allergist confirmation we located someone who would eventually remove them. With the three stents butted up to the other a special teflon coated plastic tube had to be used to bypass the artery and then they had to stretch the muscle over it for protection. He is now unable to work now with the numbness and sharp pains that continue to be problematic along with the constant swelling in lower leg as a result which will never return to nornal. He is now hypersensative to nickel as a result and nickel is in so many things that surround all if us in our daily lives including some foods. We were forced to move from our apartment and now in a camping trailer and are awaiting paperwork actuvities for income and assistance.
