Our Journey Through Unexpected Challenges
My name is Kevin, and I am a husband and father of three wonderful young children. On Thanksgiving Day 2024, our lives took an unexpected turn when I was administratively discharged from my active duty position in the Air Force. This sudden change led to the loss of our healthcare, critically affecting our three special needs children who require specialized appointments for their development. Additionally, my wife grapples with health conditions that necessitate regular monitoring.
Navigating through this tumultuous period has been anything but easy as I've struggled to secure consistent employment. Fortunately, in February 2025, I managed to obtain a part-time position at Home Depot. However, the financial strain of my unemployment resulted in accumulated credit card debt, as we endeavored to hold our lives together. Our family and our church community have stepped in to offer support during this challenging time. We were also incredibly grateful for the assistance we received through the Homer Fund at Home Depot; this blessing truly made a difference for us.
In September 2025, I finally secured a full-time role at Lowe's, which comes with a stable schedule. Yet, after spending seven months working inconsistently at Home Depot, catching up financially remains a daunting task. We are constantly battling the overwhelming burden of credit card interest charges, making it feel almost impossible to regain our footing.
Despite these challenges, we recognize how richly we have been blessed by the remarkable individuals who have come into our lives. We feel immense gratitude for every helping hand and every ounce of kindness shown to us. As we continue to rebuild and strive for a stable future, we humbly ask for your support to help us catch up on our obligations. Thank you for considering our request, and may God bless you abundantly.
