Veterans Village
Veterans Village plans to use the Tiny House philosophy to provide recently discharged Veterans and other disadvantaged persons with dignified living quarters, with privacy, a sense of ownership, and a way to re-integrate into society. These people have had regimented lives. Every second of their day decided for them. A lot of them feel "lost" with their newfound "freedom." So, qualified persons would be allowed to live in the village. They would be responsible for its upkeep while learning a trade (trade school or college, etc.), or bolstering their military experience with same. Over time, as they learn to live independently and gain employment, they shift from village upkeep to paying rent. Once they can stand on their own, they graduate out of the system.
No apartments. No dorms. No "public" "shared" housing.
The dignity of having their own spaces, first time in years, perhaps.
