Curt Strom and Will Reffett's lives were taken on February 20, 2024 in a heartless act in Bloomfield Nebraska.

We lost a dear friend of our community. Curt Strom is the reason that I got into bowling. He took many of the kids in and taught them how to bowl at a young age, I was about 5 or 6. Every Saturday morning during the winters we would all go down to the Curt's Lanes and be kids and have a blast. It is one of my most memorable times growing up. Over the years, I started working with Curt and on to the men's league, then on to travel league. During my senior year of high school, I skipped prom to road trip with Curt to bowl the Peterson Classic and the Hoinke out in Cincinnati, Ohio. I grew up bowling with his kids, Page and Dustin. After moving off for 20 years, I returned to Bloomfield where Dustin became one of my closest friends. Curt hadn't ever changed, he was the same that I remember him. His life was that bowling center and helping others. He was always the one to give, he loved bowling and he took care of those around him. Bloomfield lost someone special, bowling lost someone special. He will be missed by so many and I can't help but hurt for his family.
