Wallace Brothers Freedom
Three brothers were wrongfully convicted in Sunflower County, MS in 2023 for a murder in Drew, MS on February 14, 2013. These 3 men were not the original suspects and were not in the area at the time of the murder (they all had alibi's, 1 was denied to be allowed in court). There were originally 5 people brought in for questioning and one charged in 2013, but all were released due to supposedly no evidence and they were brought in on hearsay. In September 2014, Beuncle Triplett was arrested on burglary charges and looking at over 100 years when she told the detective she had information on a murder. Beuncle is a known drug addict, history of mental hospital stays and medication to help her (which she was not on during this time). Information given by detectives and Beuncle did not add up. No fingerprints were taken at the scene, no DNA or print match to any of the 3 brothers, all evidence was lost between the crime scene/crime lab/ and back to the detectives, no connection between the men and the crime was found. Beuncle and the 3 men were charged for the crime. 10 years later the 3 brothers got life without parole and Beuncle’s charges were dropped to manslaughter then disappeared. For her testimony in court she only received 15 out of the 100+ years she was looking at. The case was based on hearsay from an unreliable witness who was looking for a deal and there is no evidence or proof.
