Washington Family Help
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, Salina "Peaches" Washington, and her boyfriend Thomas were in a devastating motorcycle accident where they were hit by a motorist coming through the roundabout on Converse in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Salina and Thomas were immobilized and taken to Cheyenne Regional hospital and surprisingly beat the odds that so many others have not. However, they have an extremely long road to recovery ahead of them that will require months if not years of rehabilitation.
Salina sustained a broken neck in her cervical spine (C5, C6 & C7) in which they had to completely remove a crushed vertebrae (C6) and create a bridge from C5 to her C7. She also sustained a compound fracture in which her arm had to be medically reattached with a plate and multiple screws. There were many cuts, scrapes and bruises that were more superficial but still extremely painful. Thomas sustained a severe concussion, a complete separation of his right shoulder, damage to his back, neck, elbow, along with many cuts, bruises, and road rash. Salina has already endured two major surgeries to repair both her arm and neck, but she will be unable to work for anywhere from 12 weeks beyond. Thomas is still under evaluation for his injuries and the concussion has taken its toll.
We are asking for your generosity to help Salina & Thomas by collecting donations for household expenses and other needs while unable to work. Salina has two young sons (a 4-year-old and 12-year-old) living at home and they need to maintain a sense of normalcy. We all know that without the ability to go to work that there is no way to make ends meet. In an effort to allow Salina and her family to survive and truly focus on her recovery, we ask for your help with some of these expenses that the family will endure as they try and get back on their feet. Any donation would be extremely appreciated as this will help ease the burden of the never-ending bills that will continue to increase over time. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
