We need assistance to repair our Hurricane damaged home On Sept 10, 2017, Hurricane Irma struck the entire state of Florida. Our Mobile Home and car and interior of our home suffered roof and water damage in Stuart FL. On Sept 14th We filed a claim with both insurance and Fema both claims were denied insurance denied the claim stating we did not have the right policy to cover the damage and Fema denied our claim stating the damage was not caused by disaster it appears FEMA does not view trees and limbs falling on your home or flying debris that punctures through your roof during a hurricane as storm damage according to FEMA they will only cover roofs torn off or damaged by wind only. It doesn't matter to them that it is the high winds that knocked the trees down and caused tree limbs to become projectiles and damage our roof. Apparently, it doesn't count as far as FEMA is concerned. We do not have any savings available to tap into to repair the damage as our savings was depleted this last year due to an unexpected health crisis Paul was Diagnosed on Aug 2016 With invasive Aspergillosis which is a life-threatening illness we have maxed out our savings meeting the deductible and out of pocket costs for his numerous treatments and prescriptions to keep him alive We have nothing left and the last thing we needed on our plates was Hurricane IRMA
