Whitey Richard - Memorium
Elliot (Whitey) Richard, Jr. passed on March 4th, 2025. A cherished son, brother, uncle, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, cousin, friend, and true blue Bostonian transplanted to San Jose, California, a city which was lucky to have him.
He will be remembered for his humor, love of family, engagement in community sports, willingness to carry heavy burdens and his tendency to whip out one-liners in his unmistakable Bostonian accent. Whitey was a character, full of life. He bravely fought the good fight against cancer until the very end when he was ready to go. There will be a hole in all our hearts now that he is gone.
While Whitey left us with an overabundance of love, he did not leave behind much in the way of physical assets. Nevertheless, his life should be celebrated and his memory preserved, so we, his family, will be paying for his burial, services and Celebration of Life. The timing for these events has been scheduled for the end of May, 2025.
His family is requesting the following:
- In place of flowers or other donations, please help cover the costs of a burial, cemetery chapel service and separate Celebration of Life through a contribution to the Whitey Richard Fund
- If you would prefer to make a donation to a 501(c)(3) organization, such as The American Cancer Society, please feel free to make a donation at this link - Hirschberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research
We hope to see you at the events to share our mutual love for the man people knew as Whitey. May he run that football all the way to the End Zone in Heaven.
