Help me attend the WIDA Annual Conference “Igniting Innovation for Multilingual Learners.”

Hi, my name is Britni Chabot and I am a multilingual learner specialist in the Edmonds School District at a Title I elementary school. My role is to support all multilingual learners in their English language acquisition and ability to access core curriculum. I continue to strive to learn best practices to support my students and provide equitable opportunities for them to be successful. 

The WIDA Annual Conference “Igniting Innovation for Multilingual Learners” is taking place in Seattle this year and I am hoping to be able to attend. It is an invaluable opportunity to learn about topics in my field, strengthen relationships with colleagues, and grow professionally to support vulnerable students in our district. 

An individual conference registration fee is $765, which includes three days of 75-minute breakout sessions that examine research-based strategies, practices and topics that align to the conference theme, and a 2.5-hour hands-on workshop that allows for in-depth exploration of a topic, strategy, or practice. The conference will also include five featured sessions and one keynote presentation from leaders in the field. 

I am excited that WIDA 2025 is local this year as past conferences were infeasible with the added cost of travel. Still, with the high cost of conference registration and limited professional development funding available throughout the District, I cannot afford to attend the conference without some extra help.
