On behalf of Paula Gambini Maass, Mandy Daggett, and Susan Abbott, I am publishing this fundraiser to help them send Burt off in accordance with his wishes when the time comes. That time is closer than any of us wants, but, because of his love of and passion for life, and his determination to never give in, it is not here quite yet. There is time to let Burt and his family know how much he has meant in our lives.

Burt has fought through so many ups and downs in life and, particularly the last few years, but has always found love and support from friends and family. 

With characteristic stubbornness and determination Burt has made it to the milestones he wished to reach - marrying Paula and Mandy's high school graduation being 2 of the most wished for and joyfully achieved. There were also myriad other occasions he enjoyed – weddings, and birthdays, watching his favorite teams (the Cubbies), and playing softball.

Burt's life has been rich with adventures and experiences that many of you shared with him. We hope you will share them here, as well, adding any photos you may have.

In the meantime, any financial support you can able manage will go toward funeral and memorial expenses.
