Hi everyone. Recently our fur-child, Duke, has been limping and as we watched it for a month, it only got worse. We decided to take him to the vet and the vet has a strong suspicion that he has torn his CCL (equivalent to a human's ACL). The x-rays alone to confirm this suspicion are estimated to cost $500-$700. At the moment, we unfortunately do not have the funds to put much towards his x-rays since we are 1.5 months out from having our first child. Our prenatal medical bills are starting to get more and more expensive and those costs are only going to keep increasing. We really hate seeing our boy in pain and he is too young and healthy to entertain the idea of putting him down. If we can't find the funds to pay for his x-rays we are going to try to find a family who may want to take him in and who can afford his care. Best case scenario is that we find it is either a minor tear in his CCL and we won't need any surgery or we find that it has nothing to do with his CCL and it may be early onset of arthritis. We are willing to try everything in order to make sure he is pain-free and alive to enjoy life a little longer.
