It's true what they say that many of us are just one serious illness or personal crisis away from our life collapsing. I thought I was prepared for a potential storm that life might throw my way, but unfortunately I wasn't prepared for several storms at once.

It started when I was hospitalized several times between 2018 and 2019, and diagnosed with heart failure. I've had a pacemaker-defibrillator attached to my heart since 2021. To quote my cardiologist, I'm "at risk of sudden death". That crisis led to another— the inability to work consistently or function at full capacity. That led to losing health insurance (I'm currently under-insured). It didn't take long to burn through my safety net, and after exhausting every possible public and private resource available I just didn't have anything soft to land on.  

I'm overwhelmed with medical debt and all the responsibilites that come with just existing. My actual need exceeds the goal I've set for this fundraiser, but if I can just get my footing that would go a long way.
