Zach’s Go Kart Racing

Zach is seeing his wildest dreams come true right now! But he needs your help!

Zach has always wanted to race go-karts, with the dream of racing F1 someday. And if he doesn’t end up racing alongside Charles Leclerc (his favorite driver), he hopes to design F1 cars. He already designs cars in a notebook. He studies cars and car design. He knows the stats on all of the best and fastest cars in the world, not to mention the most expensive ones, too! He lives and breathes cars and racing. And now’s his chance to participate in it!

He went to a pre-season qualifier for the FAT Karting League in late March and qualified for the Cadet age group in the Regional Championship after just 1 round, rather than the 3 they say it normally takes. He was passing more experienced kids with full power in their karts when he only had half power (everyone is given half power on their first day). He beat all of his goal times by 20+ seconds. He’s a natural-born racer!

He attended a second pre-season qualifier and did phenomenally! He consistently finished in the top 5 (with a couple 2nd place finishes) with race times 6+ seconds below his goal every time.

He did so well, he has qualified to skip the Regional Championship (the normal next step), and gets to go straight to the Pro Championship!

If Zach can get a year or two of racing under his belt at the Cadet Level, he will move up to Juniors. The champion of the Junior Pro World Championship wins a seat driving F4, the first step on your way to driving F1. This really does have the possibility of leading him straight to his dream career. Not to mention gaining all of this racing experience can only help make him a better automotive engineer if he goes that route.

He’s ecstatic about all of it! But the Pro Championship is an expensive endeavor. Entry fees, good safety gear, and travel expenses will run somewhere around $13,000 - $14,000. For 9 races over 6 weekends, one each month between May and October.

We are asking Zach’s friends, family, and community if they would be willing to help fund his lifelong dream. If you would like to help him out, please consider donating on this page. Every little bit helps!

Additionally, we are seeking corporate sponsorships, with benefits including company logos being put on his race gear, and a Ruhter Racing t-shirt. (Sponsorship logos can not go on the karts, as the karts are all owned and maintained by the league.) We will advertise for you throughout the Midwest at 6 different event weekends in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. If you or someone you know might be interested in sponsoring him, please let me know! ([email protected]). Corporate sponsorships will be completely separate from this donation page.

Please be sure to follow Ruhter Racing’s new Instagram page. @ZachRuhterRacing We will be posting pictures and videos from his racing season, and include updates and other information about his racing.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support of our motorsport fanatic! Your donations to help Zach race in the FAT Karting League are very much appreciated!
