Zakhm... Wound of the Soul
Hi Everyone,
My name is Milan Miller and I am crowdfunding for my senior thesis Zakhm... Wounds of the Soul. This is a short experimental film where I take my love of dance and love of film to create a unique project in terms of films created at my school. Since starting at this school I have wanted to spread the same type of love that I have experienced and seen over and over again while performing. Being a part of Mudra Dance Studio showed me the power that performance can have and the hope that it can give people through the passion and energy we bring to the stage.
This project is about a young woman who has moved away for college and her journey through meeting people and falling in love over a one and a half year time period. With each experience she experiences a lot of joy, love, and also heart break. As you go through this journey you see her at her lowest points with depression and her friendships and see how she works her way out of those situations.
What has become very important to me over the years was witnessing and experiencing very dark moments and how the littlest response or moment can effect that. As suicide and depression are very important topics when it comes to youth around the world I think it is important to share this type of message. I want to give people more of an understanding as to how a simple act can have big effects. Whether the person themselves have done something that put them in a negative place or the people around them. It is important for people to recognize these things and know when they are affected because then the people around them as well as themselves can work together to improve the situation and maybe even save someones life.
I hope this project can really impact people in a positive way to get the help they need and put themselves in better situations. I hope all of you will believe in this project as much as I do.
Thank you to all of the people who took the time to read this it really means a lot to me.
