This is a fundraiser to create a website for Topless Topics, an online vlog and "brand" created by me (Cleo) that seeks to de-stigmatize and de-commercialize female toplessness through repeat, non-sexual exposure. Basically, if a guy can go without a shirt at the beach, why can't a girl? You can find out more about my mission here: "Welcome to Topless Topics: Equal Opportunity Nakedness" .
When I started this channel four + years ago, I started out on Youtube, which allowed free uploads and a much broader reach to new viewers. However as I gained popularity (and haters, oh the haters) I started to get targeted much more frequently by "false flagging" and other such tactics by detractors to get my videos blocked and removed. So I started uploading to Vimeo, which has much more respect for their content creators, but which costs money to upload anything more than the tiniest, infrequent videos, and which has a much less user-friendly interface that a lot of newcomers struggle with, judging by the frequent emails I get asking "how do I find your new videos?" and so on.
At this point in my life, I've decided to try my damnedest to make Topless Topics my "full time job," in regards to improving the quality and consistency of my videos, as well as to involve a lot more people via interviewing other topfree advocates, reps from organization doing good work throughout the world, inviting fans to submit their own content, etc. And I feel that the only way to successfully make this a reality is to create a quality, user-friendly, feature-packed website, all organized into a sensible keyword-based structure that allows those who come just to watch to sort the content by subject, speaker, date, etc, and to allow those that create their own content to find a wealth of tutorials and tips on how to create content, as well as resources to share that content with a receptive audience of other topfree advocates and the like.
So, that brings me to this website, and my concerted effort to gather the minimal funds needed to make that site come to fruition. I will be doing 90% of the heavy-lifting myself, i.e. creating all the content to fill up the website with, doing all the graphics and such, etc. However I do need outside help in the backend creation of the site (hard website coding is so very much not my forte) and while I've found an excellent web developer who happens to also be a topfree advocate to help me with all that, I can't in good conscience ask them to work for free. Even if they were willing, there are hard costs that can't be waived, like paying for the domain, theme, hosting, and so on, which while I would happily pay out of my own pocket if I could, I have too many real-life expenses to promise that.
So instead I'm giving this fundraiser thing a try, and if we can make it to the goal, awesome! I'll be working with my web developer to get the site to fruition ASAP, and any extra funds we can acquire will go towards making the website that much more content-filled and robust. If however we can't reach that $500 goal, then I'll put the website plan on the backburner until such a time as there seems to be more of a demand for it, or until I'm able to make enough side-money doing whatever I can IRL to fund it, as I really do want to see this site exist.
If you've already donated to the website via buying a print on my Etsy or through a monthly donation on Patreon, please be assured that either your money is being held in a fund that won't be touched until I reach the goal to get the website creation in motion, or it went towards the other monthly costs that I have to pay to keep Topless Topics going, like Vimeo's monthly hosting fees. I DO NOT take any of the money to use for personal non-Topless Topics-related expenditures, even though I put many unpaid hours into making content every week! I do it because I enjoy making content and because I think the topfreedom equality message is important and I want to do whatever I can to get the word out and fight for that equality, one video at a time.
Thanks for reading and thank you if you donated, here's hoping we can make this website come to fruition very soon!
